This project merge from the theme and idea of cleaning the rivers of Sao Paulo State.
After a first phase of reflection on what would be the best means of dealing with the subject, it appeared that there were several ways of dealing with the problem.
At first, I could simply address the household waste thrown in the streets of the city
Or work in conjunction with wastewater collection and treatment companies, which do not have the necessary means to ensure effective treatment
Or even intervene on the city's sewer network, which remains very poorly optimized
And many other possibilities ...
By continuing my reflection, I became interested in the causes of this pollution in a wider spectrum.
The pollution is also part of the fact that the region of Sao Paulo has a very particular climate with significant inclement weather and heavy precipitation during a period of the year.
However, this water is no longer absorbed by the concrete landscape of the megalopolis and these rains turn into torrents in the streets, carrying all the waste towards one of the main rivers of the State of Sao Paulo, The Rio Tiete.

The idea then came to me to design a system that will, in one hand, retain precipitation in the heart of the city in order to avoid as much as possible:
- To clutter up the sewer networks and facilitate treatment by wastewater plants.
- Flood phenomena
- Bacteriological epidemics following rotting of waste
And in the other hand, allow to:
- Promote green spaces in cities
- Contain water to reuse it during periods of drought
- Give utility to unused areas of the city, namely roofs.
